I call this cake a project! A friend wanted a cake for her twin boys who were turning one. They constantly reacted positively to Jake and the Neverland Pirates animation series and in her words, she wanted them to think they were watching the series while looking at the cake. Tall order if you ask me. We had a lot of back and forth as we brainstormed over ideas. I finally came up with this idea and was left to execute it. In one word, it was a hit!

The cakes are a sandwich of Nigerian style vanilla cakes and chocolate butter cakes. They were frosted with vanilla buttercream and chocolate buttercream. All the design work was carried out with marshmallow fondant.
