This stained glass cake was made for the confirmation of a cute baby boy. The proud new parents wanted something simple and symbolic to mark the occasion in church. They liked the idea of a stained glass cake with a bible and cross topper and so we decided to go with this design. I had lots of fun creating this cake as it gave me the opportunity of trying out new cake decorating techniques.

The cake itself is a Nigerian Style Cake frosted with Vanilla Buttercream. All the design work was carried out with marshmallow fondant.

There are several unique details on this cake the first of which is the stained glass top and base. I have a tutorial here on how to achieve this effect using fondant.

The next standout on this cake are the bible and cross toppers. Again, I have a tutorial here on how to make these fondant toppers.

This stained glass technique is definitely easier than the other filling in method and not as messy. Thank you Terry.
