These cupcakes were made for a birthday tea party. They accompanied a Teapot Cake which can be found here. I had a lot of fun creating these beauties. They looked so real that some people were thrown off. Its amazing what one can achieve with cupcakes.

The cupcakes are chocolate cupcakes frosted with chocolate buttercream, covered with  marshmallow fondant and topped with a ganache and marshmallows. Yeah, such opulence!

The tray was made before the cupcakes. The pattern on the tray was made to look like the draping on the teapot cake.

The cupcakes were baked in cupcake wrappers which were later peeled off. They were then frosted with chocolate buttercream and wrapped with fondant. Finally, the tops were filled with ganache after the fondant had hardened a bit. The handles of the teacups were made using a mold and stuck to the cups with white chocolate.

Aside from the teapot, I also made some cute decorated sugar cubes. The cubes were decorated with fondant flowers.
