I made this cake for the son of a very close friend. His son was graduating from school and he wanted a cake for the family dinner. He was not sure about what design he wanted but knew he wanted something with a graduation cap. I had made a graduation cap cake before (below) and decided to do something a bit different with silhouettes and marbled fondant decor.

The cake is a 2 tier cake. The top tier is a pound cake frosted with vanilla buttercream while the bottom tier is a chocolate butter cake frosted with chocolate buttercream. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.
