This is a lovely cake I made for a set of twin girls. One of them loves the color yellow and the other loves pink. Their mum wanted a cake which will feature these colors and that was what I set out to do. I was initially going to make a princess cake but decided to try out something I have been longing to do: a ballerina cake with ballerina slippers on top. The mum was impressed and I am sure the girls loved their cake.

The top tier of this cake is a 6 inch red velvet cake frosted with cream cheese frosting. The middle tier is an 8 inch chocolate butter cake frosted with chocolate buttercream frosting. The bottom tier is a 10 inch Nigerian cake frosted with vanilla buttercream frosting. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.

The star of this cake is of course the fondant ballerina slippers topper. A tutorial on how to make these slippers can be found here.
