Going Bananas Cake
This is a fun cake I made for someone who loves, yup, monkeys. She wanted a cake for Christmas but with a money theme. I decided to go with the theme of “going bananas” and make a cake showing monkeys around a crate of Bananas. I also wanted to incorporate something about her boyfriend who is from Jamaica on the cake and that’s how I came up with the Jamaican flag. She loved it!
The cake itself is 4 layers of pound and chocolate butter cakes frosted with vanilla buttercream. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant. I have a pictorial here on how the monkeys were made. I will be posting a tutorial in future on how the cake itself was made. For now, below are a few more views of the cake.
