Gift Boxes with Party Elephant Cake
This is a fun cake I made for a girl who was just turning 1. Her mum wanted something fun and with a lot of colors. She also wanted an animal topper. I came up with this design which she loved a lot. The balloons were a last minute decision and they helped in bringing out the fun nature of the cake. This cake is similar to to an opened gift box cake I made earlier (Picture below).
The top tier of the cake is a chocolate butter cake frosted with chocolate buttercream. The bottom tier is a French sponge cake frosted with vanilla buttercream frosting. Both to tiers are 8 inch squares. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.
The cute elephant in front of the cake was also made with marshmallow fondant. A tutorial on how this elephant was made can be found here.
