Mother’s Day Cake with Flowers

This is a lovely white cake which doubled as both a mother’s day cake and the birthday cake of a new mother who just turned 40. She wanted something simple and elegant for her birthday and that was what I set out to achieve with this cake. The main attraction of this cake are the flowers and pearls which are featured on top in the shape of the number 40 and in the front of the cake. There are various types of flowers all in different shades of pink, faded purple, white and silver. A tutorial on how the roses were made can be found here.

The cake itself is a 10 inch Nigerian Cake frosted with Vanilla Buttercream. The flowers and all the design work were made with Marshmallow Fondant. I will be posting a tutorial in future on how the cake was made. Below are other views of the cake.
