This cake was made for a young Xbox devotee. When I was asked to make the cake, I was somewhat “scared” as I had no idea how to reproduce an Xbox game console and make it look almost like the real deal. With a lot of thinking, layering, ruling, indenting and rolling, I was able to come up with this cake. Needless to say, the kid was thrilled.

Inside the cake holds a lovely surprise. The mum wanted a cake of 4 colors, one of which had to be a red velvet cake. The other colors were made out of my pound cake recipe which was divided and colored with food color. The entire cake was frosted with vanilla buttercream and all the designs were made with marshmallow fondant.

I also had to make a game controller for the Xbox. The controller and cord were made entirely out of marshmallow fondant.
