This cake was made for a couple who are both medical doctors. They were celebrating their birthday together and wanted a cake to symbolize not just the celebration but their vocation. I decided on this heart shaped cake to symbolize their love and unity.

The cake itself is a French Vanilla Sponge Frosted with Vanilla Buttercream and decorated with Marshmallow Fondant.

On the left side of the cake is an opened pill bottle with spilled pills. The bottle and pills were made before hand out of marshmallow fondant. A tutorial on how to make them can be found here.

On the base of the case is a graph showing the heart beat of a patient. I agree that the heart beat is all over the place, but hey, its a cake 🙂

On the top of the cake is a prescription note which has the names of the celebrants written on it.

Also on the top of the cake and falling to the right side of it is a stethoscope made out of fondant. A tutorial on how to make the stethoscope can be found here.

I wish the couple many more happy years together. Cheers!
