Jewelry Gift Box Cakes
Jewelry Gift Boxes are the perfect Cake Designs for birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, et cetera. They are very impressive looking and have a lot of charm. This happens to be one of my favorite cakes to date. It is a quaint-looking blue jewelry gift box surrounded with ornaments and a pearl necklace. This cake was made for a birthday of someone who obviously loves the good things in life. There are several attractive aspects to this cakes and I was able to try a couple of new techniques. This cake inspired the second cake below.

Hi Terry. What did you use to make the lids on the jewelry and gift boxes? Would you recommend using pastillage or fondant mixed with Tylose? Also, how did you prop them up?
Hi. The lids are also cakes. They are covered with fondant just as you would any normal cake.

No. Most cake decorators use Styrofoam. I do cake.
