THE PROCESS:

(1) First some preliminary work. Make the purse and stiletto. Tutorial for how to make stilettos can be found here. The stiletto and purse were brushed with a 50/50 mixture of vodka and corn syrup to make them glossy.

(5) Make other elements like the fan and brooch. The fondant fan was made the same way you will make paper fan.

(6) For the middle tier:

i. Drape the tier with yellow fondant.

ii. Roll out enough yellow fondant to wrap around the tier.

iii. Roll out aqua fondant and cut it into 1 inch strips. Stick these to the yellow fondant.

iv. Cut out 1/2 cm strips of a darker shade of aqua fondant and stick them vertically on the aqua portion of the fondant leaving 1.5 inch space between each strip.

v. Brush the cake tier with a bit of water and wrap the fondant around it.

vi. Using an extruder, make yellow and aqua fondant strings, cut them into 1.5 inch strings and stick these strings to the cake. I used a total of 180 stings for this 8 inch tier.

This is beautiful Sir Terry. Please I’d like to make request, I hope you’ll oblige. You always use marshmallow fondant and it looks lovely but it’s not easily accessible for those of us in Nigeria. The ones at the big supermarkets is too expensive. Please Sir, kindly give us a fondant recipe that will be equally pliable, tasty, and the ingredients can be easily sourced for here in Nigeria. Thanks a lot Sir.

Hello Terry kindly help with how you achieved the platform shape front of the shoe. And how you made the purse too. Thanks

    • Terry Adido says:

Hi. I have no tutorial for the purse. For the shoe, I used the same mtd I use for all my shoes. For the platform, I placed several layers of fondant in the front and covered the side with fondant to conceal the layers.
