This lovely hat cake was made over a mothers’ day weekend for a grand mom. This is my second hat cake project, the first being the straw hat cake below. The beauty about hat cakes is that they allow you to be creative. You can choose to add whatever bows, loops, flowers or ornaments which you fancy. The owner of the cake was thrilled to receive it.

The cake itself is a Nigerian cake frosted with vanilla buttercream. All the design work was carried out with marshmallow fondant.
